How about a breast cancer drug causing heart failure? I suppose that is one way to reduce cancer death statistics, albeit a rather sickening one. What if I told you that anti-depressant drugs sanctioned by government regulators caused heart defects in developing and newborn babies?

I suppose this is the result of the futility that many feel in thinking that they can change the behavior of Washington politicians by voting. Soma for the suffering.
Depression is the result of disempowerment, or the illusion thereof. Disempowerment is facilitated by nutritional deficiency and environmental/metabolic toxicity and too many FDA-approved drugs.
It is also a function of not knowing who you are or why you are here. Many of our elected representatives do not know who they are or why they are there, so why should we?
It's apparently much easier to take a drug than to eat well and care for our bodies, especially when we believe we need permission to do so (much less socialized medicine). It's a slave mentality and slavery rightly leads to depression.
The Civil War and Lincoln did not end slavery. The FDA has seen to that by approving mind-altering medication while doing everything not within the scope of its power to prevent people from actually knowing about natural alternatives to depression.
They do this by and large by preventing manufacturers, distributors and retailers of said natural products from relating anything truly meaningful about their use. Why? No competition with the drug monopoly is allowed to be. This is what I refer to as pharmaceutical fascism, although socialism will be just as toxic.
By the way, this could be corrected fairly efficiently with the passage of Dr. Ron Paul's HR 2117, The Health Freedom Protection Act. Tell your health food store. tell your natural doctor. Tell your friends. Tell anyone who believes that food and dietary supplements are a more effective means to maintain true health than drugs. It may be too late for those who think drugs are more vital than nutrients, but tell them anyway, but first pull the cotton balls from their prescription pill bottles out of their ears...
