#1 in Drug Use, Millions of Americans Make Declaration of Dependence

We also rank pretty high (or low, depending upon your perspective) in pharmaceutical drug use. Why on earth would a free people need to "escape" via the chemical manipulation of their biology? That's a bugger of a question because it might force us to take a mirror to what we believe our country to be.

When government stays within its constitutional limitations, the people are free to reach their full potential. However, when government usurps the sovereignty of the people, even if the people beg to be cared for, their "full potential" gets redefined and limited at the whims of the bureaucratic oligarchy. Americans take more drugs than any other nation despite the trillion dollar war on drugs waged against them. You would think that at some point it would become obvious that war declarations, much less police-state operations against mind-altering substances, are futile. But perhaps futility is the point.

When you feel powerless in any relationship, you may become despondent and thus a bit self-destructive. Whether it be voting within a two-party system, a war on cancer, poverty, AIDS, drugs or terror -- we have been "gifted" with Hegelian dialectics without end. Is our end in sight? Man, in his arrogance, thinks that he can destroy Creation itself, since he is full with the illusion that smallpox and polio were eliminated by his scratch and sugar cube. However, disease, like poverty can never totally be eradicated, because you can't eradicate a state of consciousness. It has to be won everyday, first, by what you believe, and then by what you do based on those beliefs.

While healing an individual may be organic "cake"; eradicating disease in TOTALITY for the masses is tantamount to the medicalization of all life according to Marx and Engels. Sure, it may sound good to those hopelessly naive, but it stands four-square "in the way" of the freedom of the individual. Collectivists don't mind doing that, but the republic, for which it has stood for over two centuries, used to laugh and pity those who did not understand the value of individual liberty. Now much of what is left of a free republic appears ready to eschew liberty for (false) security because of externalized threats.

Despite my avowed mission as a healer, I am not "for" eradication of disease. In fact, healing is not necessarily the cessation of an allopathic diagnosed ailment. My "medical" suffering has taught me invaluable lessons which I could not learn in any other way. Why would I want to take away anyone else's opportunity to learn the things that I have -- or greater? This utopian concept of disease eradication is hopelessly collectivist and rooted in an immaturity of spiritual, much less biological understanding.

While I am "all for" the freedom to eradicate disease in any way you see fit, it is always to be applied on an individual basis, not based upon some animalistic concept called "herd" immunity. When thousands of people are sick, you are not sick because they are. The conditions for illness are created from within. Even when you accept "reality" placed upon you from an external source, it is an internal agreement that allows the veil of illusion to shield your eyes from the truth.

The "human condition" is to EXPERIENCE all of life so that we know what it is like to walk in another's moccasins. It used to be that Americans valued liberty above all else. Now it seems that the majority of those who are politically active (at least those covered by the MSM) favor socialism, communism or fascism. Under a constitutional republic (not a majority-rule democracy), the rights of the smallest minority are protected against the knee-jerk fear and emotionalism contained within the historically and presently ignorant, government-loving mob.

While each individual chooses to take drugs for different reasons, I am certain that a culture that embraces liberty to its fullest extent will have far fewer chemical-dependents. The culture in which the people depend upon government to dole out a little liberty here and there is the one filled with drug addicts, both legal and illegal. Why wouldn't it be that way -- isn't forced dependence depressing?

The path of liberty is the only path that leads to independence. Yes, that means you are at liberty to screw up and get sick along the way, but how else can you learn of the right path if you don't know what it is like to be on the wrong one? Maybe Americans are craving the path of dependence so that they will appreciate the path of individual liberty once again, as much as they crave oxygen while drowning. I only hope that we come up for air in time.

1st Amendment Moles? The RNC Plans Free Speech Zones in Minneapolis

Headline: Moles Wanted "In preparation for the Republican National Convention, the FBI is soliciting informants to keep tabs on local protest groups..." So who does Homeland Security think poses the gravest threat to the Republican National Convention?

The Vegans are coming! The Vegans are coming! Watch out for those militant vegetarians, as you never know when one might pelt you with a veggie burger. Actually, it looks like the vegans are trying to deflect attention away from their "angry" reputation (have you ever actually met a vegan that threatened you with bodily harm?). It is interesting who they point to as the real potential danger: Ron Paul Republicans, of course. I have a another sincere question for you:

"What is threatening about Americans who believe in constitutionally-limited government?"

Nothing, unless you are a welfare/warfare statist. As a larger and larger percentage of Americans grow dependent upon the feds for jobs or welfare, or welfare jobs, the more dangerous those aligned with our founding documents "appear." Just don't call it terrorism.

Neo-conservative Republicans have become lovers of Big Government and welfare as extreme as the most "liberal" of Democrats. Will you fall for their trick of "criminalizing" those who love freedom the most? Will there be "free speech" zones surrounded by barbed-wire in Minneapolis at the time of the RNC?

What a picture for the world, much less Americans within our own borders, to see. The danger to our constitutional republic comes not from foreign terrorism -- but from those that would terrorize it by ignoring the one thing that restrains the growth of this obscene Democrat and Republican cancer. None are so blind that cannot see their own reflection in the mirror.

It's called the Constitution for these united States. Perhaps, with the jingoistic John McCain at the helm, they can get over the Constitution-al illusion and declare it to be a terrorist document because it values liberty over security, starting with our Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,..."

Do you remember way back when liberty was valued above all else? Despite what is insinuated, September 11, 2001 did not change natural law. A tragic event was used to convince the people that safety was more important than liberty. The irony is that 9/11 happened as a consequence of our misplaced faith that government would or could protect us from such events.

The fact is that it is a FAILURE of government, not of the people, except where the people fell asleep listening to a federal lullaby. Now we are to be convinced that only if we would have given more power to the federal government, all would have been well. Or for the future, we must accept DNA databasing and national ID cards or else planet earth is blasted from the sky. Their UN-constitutional world may end, but life will surely go on.

As long as we remain fearful, we are open to victimization from those that would sell us a false security for our priceless liberty. Shame on them that have sold their souls for a pittance of political power or the promise that they would be cared for cradle to grave.

How on earth can we honor our fallen war veterans by glorifying the power of the state? Did they really fight and lose their lives so that we Americans left behind would be spied upon by a behemoth federal bureaucracy in the name of safety? The message of Memorial Day should be one of thanks and reconnection to the real reason we may have to go to war. Our gratitude should be because of their defense of liberty, not the enablement of incremental federal enslavement of the masses under the guise of enhanced security.

Whether you be a vegan or a Ron Paul Republican -- both or undecided -- that anyone would think that we need government infiltration and free speech zones is a sad indication of our duplicity on the issue of freedom. A nation that loves liberty does not "need" to spy on its citizens. That it does is evidence of a paranoid bureaucracy knowing that it no longer operates under the law, but way outside of it.

A criminal looks at everyone else as a criminal, because it is all he knows. A government that looks at every citizen as a potential terrorist has already descended into that insecure state of UNconsciousness from which there is no return. If it is to be possible to turn back from the point of no return, we must persist in binding the politicians and bureaucrats down by the chains of the constitution. For that is the only way we can SECURE liberty to our posterity. A constitutional republic can only survive as long as the people force the government to obey the law.

If we do not, one day we may have to memorialize the freedom that was ultimately killed under the guise of the phony War on Terror. May that day never come...
